What happens if expired lancets are used?
The use of an expired lancet (drum) may cause an infection at the puncture site as the lancet may have lost its sterility. We guarantee 4 years of sterility from the date of sterilisation, so you have plenty of time to use up your lancets.
Which other drums or lancets are compatible for use with the Accu-Chek FastClix lancing device?
Due to its special drum mechanism, only the Accu-Chek FastClix lancet drum can be used in the Accu-Chek FastClix lancing device.
How close do the meter and mobile device have to be for data to transfer wirelessly from the blood glucose meter to the app?
The meter and phone must be within 3 meters (9.8 feet) for the automatic data transfer to occur. If the distance between the devices exceeds 3 meters during blood glucose test(s), any new meter data will synchronize with the app when the devices are within range. Where can I buy the Accu-Chek FastClix lancing device?
The lancing device and lancet drums are available at many retail and online pharmacies.
Can the volume of the system tones be adjusted?
You can set the volume of system tones to one of 5 different levels, with the lowermost level being Mute.
Can features be turned off if they are not being used or needed?
Yes. The Accu-Chek Connect diabetes management system is designed to be personalized. So if you want to take advantage of a full range of features, you can—or you can decide what functions are most important to you.
Can the batteries be changed if a cassette with remaining tests is still inserted?
You can change the batteries while having a cassette inserted.
Are date and time saved when changing the batteries?
Results and settings remain saved in the meter while batteries are changed or if the meter is stored without batteries.
How long will the battery last in my meter?
Your battery should last for approximately 2,000 tests.
How do I change the battery in my Accu-Chek Performa blood glucose meter?
Make sure you have a new 3-volt, lithium battery, number CR2032, to insert. Open the battery door on the back of the meter, remove the old battery for at least 20 seconds, and press any button on the meter. Insert the new battery with the “+” sign facing out. Snap the battery door back into place. Press the on/off button, and the meter will beep. Setup and hour are flashing on the display. If the date and time are correct, press and hold the on/off button for about 4 seconds. Release the button, and you’re done.
Can I use an expired test strip?
No, check the use by date on the test strip container. Do not use test strips past the use by date.
Can I use a test strip from another Accu-Chek system in the Accu-Chek Performa blood glucose meter?
No. Accu-Chek Performa blood glucose meters are designed exclusively for use with Accu-Chek Performa test strips.
