Testing blood glucose
Wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and dry them well.
Open the display cover. Press the ON/OFF button switching the
meter on. “On” appears in the display window, followed by
888 and the date line. A test strip is advanced from the drum shortly
afterwards.
With a lancing device such as Accu-Chek Softclix or Accu-Chek
Multiclix, lance the side of a fingertip. Gently squeeze the fingertip
to produce a small drop of blood. Wait until the flashing hand symbol
and blood drop symbol appear in the display and the meter beeps.
Hold the meter so the test strip is pointing downwards at a
slight angle. Touch the front edge of the test strip against the blood
drop until the meter beeps and the “000” appears in the
display. The test strip draws up the blood and starts as soon as the
necessary amount of blood has been drawn up. The flashing hand symbol
disappears and the test commences.
The three “000” in the display gradually disappear.
When they have totally disappeared, the test is complete and the test
result is displayed. The test strip symbol flashes. Press the ON/OFF
button, saving the test result in memory, this also releases the test
trip and turns the monitor off. Hold the monitor upright so that the
used test strip falls out of the bottom.
Please note: Make sure that blood is applied correctly (NO
top dosing!) in order to avoid error message.
